President William Ruto has appointed Senior Counsel Dorcas Agik Oduor as the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya and Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul Moe as the Cabinet Secretary nominee for East African Community Affairs and Regional Development.
Oduor, a jurist with over 30 years of experience, is recognised for her significant contributions to the development of Kenyaโs law through litigation, draughtsmanship, and legal advisories.
She will take over from former Attorney General Justin Muturi, who is the new CS nominee for Public Service and Human Capital Development.
Oduor is described as a public officer with impeachable integrity, impressive professional competence, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law.
She is currently serving as Secretary of Public Prosecutions within the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The Attorney General nominee was admitted to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1992 and holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree and Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
Moe, a Social Scientist and Consultant, has specialised skills in community affairs development and management, having previously served as the County Executive Committee Member in Charge of Water, Irrigation, Agriculture, and Land Reclamation in Turkana County.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences (Social Work) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and is pursuing a Masterโs Degree in Governance and Ethics.
