πŠππ’π„π€, πŠπ‚π’π„ 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐀𝐒𝐜𝐀 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐒𝐧 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐒𝐜𝐑𝐨

A total of 26,551 grade Six candidates on Tuesday started sitting for the Kenya Primary Schools Education Assessments (KPSEA), the National assessments’ tests in Kericho County.

The number of candidates who are sitting for the National assessments in public primary schools in Kericho are 21,141, with 11,086 being boys.

The candidates who are sitting for the KPSEA National assessments from private schools in Kericho are 5,410, among them 2,794 being boys.

Speaking to KNA on Tuesday in his office, the Kericho County Director of Education, CDE, Mr. Julius Ngoneshi, said there were a total of 774 centres, 553 of them being in public with the rest being in private schools.

Ngoneshi said that the National assessment exercise kicked off smoothly, adding that the number of boys sitting for KCSE in six sub-counties in Kericho were 13,417 and 13,032 girls.

The KCSE candidates will be sitting for the technical subjects in Group 5, mainly German, music, and French.

For those sitting for examinations in Group 4, examinable subjects include Home Science, Art and design, woodwork, building construction, metalwork, drawing and design, Electric and Aviation Technology, the Kericho CDE said.

Tendeno and Tumaini secondary schools in Kipkelion East will be picking the examination papers from Tamborao in Koibatek sub-county; the schools are at the far end of Kericho, while Marinyiny secondary in Konoin in Bomet County will be picking their examination materials from Kericho Town.
