2025 School Calendar – Final Ministry of Education Term dates

Revised and Final 2025 School Calendar: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has unveiled the official academic calendar for pre-primary, primary, secondary schools, and teachers’ training colleges.

First Term Academic Dates 2025

The academic year begins with the first term on January 6, 2025, for pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools, and concludes on April 4, 2025, encompassing a 13-week learning period.

There’s also a three-day half-term break from February 26 to March 2, followed by a three-week holiday from April 7-25.

Term Two academic Dates 2025

Moving on to the second term, it spans 14 weeks, starting on April 28th and ending on August 1, with a half-term break from June 25-29. After this, students enjoy a three-week holiday from August 4-22.

Term Three academic dates 2025

The final term of the academic year runs for 9 weeks, from August 25 to October 24, facilitating the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) exams from October 27-31.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams are then scheduled from November 3-21, followed by the long December holiday from October 27 to January 2, 2026.

Training Colleges Terms dates 2025

For teachers’ training colleges, term one begins from January 6 to April 4, 2025  with holidays from April 7 to May 2. Term two runs from May 5 to August 1, featuring holidays from August 4-29.

The final term for teachers’ training colleges spans 12 weeks, running from September to November 14, before the long December holidays from November 17 to January 2, 2026.
