2024 FKF Presidential Candidates and Running Mates- Full Details
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Electoral Board received credentials from nine candidates, who will be interested in going for the presidential seat at the polls which are scheduled for December 7, 2024. The list also includes the running mates for the 9 Presidential contestants.
President – Running Mate:
1. Doris Petra – Nick Mwendwa
2. Hussein Mohamed – MacDonald Mariga
3. Barry Otieno – Lucy Kaiga
4. Chris Amimo – Antony Makau
5. Sammy Kempes – Evance Kadenge
6. Tom Alila – Beryl Adhiambo
7. Sam Nyamweya – Patricia Mutheu
8. Cleophas Shimanyula – Twaha Mbarak
9. Sam Ocholla – Willis Waliaula
Who are they?
1. Doris Petra is the current FKF Vice President, while Nick Mwendwa is the outgoing FKF President.
2. Hussein Mohamed is the CEO of Extreme Sports, and MacDonald Mariga is a former Kenyan international footballer, the only Kenyan to have won the UEFA Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010.
3. Barry Otieno is a former FKF CEO, and his running mate Lucy Kaiga is the outgoing Chairperson of the FKF Nyandarua Branch.
4. Chris Amimo heads youth football at FKF, is the proprietor of Ligi Ndogo, and is a former FKF NEC member. Antony Makau is the interim Eastern region NEC member and a former Referees Committee Vice Chairman.
5. Sammy ‘Kempes’ Owino is a former Kenyan international based in the US, while his running mate Evance Kadenge is the current Nzoia Sugar FC chairman.
6. Tom Alila is a former FKF NEC member, and his running mate Beryl Adhiambo is a former referee and coach.
7. Sam Nyamweya is a former FKF President and KFF Secretary General. He lost his seat to Nick Mwendwa in 2016. His running mate Patricia Mutheu is a former Mathare United CEO and a former MCA.
8. Cleophas Shimanyula is the current chairman and owner of Kakamega Homeboyz, while Twaha Mbarak is the Vice Chairman of Bandari FC and a former FKF Vice President.
9. Sam Ocholla is the current Secretary General of Gor Mahia, while Willis Waliaula is a former Harambee Stars team manager, having also held similar positions at Tusker FC and Sofapaka FC
