2025 Schools Academic Calendar & Term Dates- Revised & Final

The Ministry of Education has released the Schools’ academic calendar for 2025.

The released academic calendar contains term dates, half term and examination dates for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), Kenya Prevocational Level Education Assessment (KPLEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary School Education (KCSE).

2025 TERM 1 DATES

The calendar from the office of the Principal Secretary of Basic Education show that schools will reopen for Term 1 on January 6, 2025, and close on April 4 after 13 weeks of learning.

In between, there will be a five-day half term running from February 26 to March 2.

Three-week April holidays will run from April 7 to 25.

2025 TERM 2 DATES

The Official School calendar shows that schools will reopen on April 28 for Term 2 for a 14-week learning period that will conclude on August 1.

The learners will proceed for their five-day half term from June 25 – 29.

Three-week August holiday will run from August 4 to 22.

2025 TERM 3 DATES

Learners will report back to school for Term 3 on August 25 for a nine-week learning period that will end on October 24.

2025 NATIONAL KNEC EXAMS

The calendar shows that all national exams will commence on October 27 save for KCSE, which will start on November 23 and end on November 23.

KPSEA will be held for five days until October 30.

Candidates will sit KILEA for five days until October 31.

KJSEA and KPLEA will subsist for nine days to November 6.

2025 DECEMBER HOLIDAY

December holidays will run from October 27th at the onset of the national exams and assessments until January 2, 2026.
