2025 School Calendar, Term Dates & Public Holidays for Kenya

Here is the 2025 school calendar for Kenya plus the public holidays for your planning:

First Term 2025

  • First term: Starts January 6, 2025 and ends April 4, 2025
  • Half-term break: February 26–March 2, 2025
  • Eid Ul Fitr Public holiday: Monday 31st March, 2025
  • First term holiday: April 7–April 25, 2025

Second Term 2025

  • Second term: Starts April 28, 2025 and ends August 1, 2025
  • Labour Day Public holiday: Friday 1st May, 2025
  • Madaraka Day Public holiday: Sunday 1st June, 2025
  • Eid Al Adha Public holiday: Friday 7th June, 2025
  • Half-term break: June 25–June 29, 2025
  • August holiday: August 4–August 22, 2025

Third Term 2025

  • Third term: Starts August 25, 2025 and ends October 24, 2025
  • Utamaduni Day Public holiday: Fiday 10th October, 2025
  • Diwali/ Mashujaa Day Public holiday: Monday 20th October, 2025.
  • End-year holiday: Starts October 27, 2025 and ends January 2, 2026

2025 National Examinations

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) are scheduled to take place from October 27–30 and October 27–31, respectively. The KCSE will start on November 3 and end on November 23.
