Ministry of Education employs and deploys several Quality Assurance Officers

The Ministry of Education has begun deployment of the recently employed Quality Assurance and Standards Officers (QASOs) to various regions in a bid to bridge the ongoing shortage of the officers.

A senior Officer at the Ministry’s Jogoo House has confirmed that the deployment started this month of May and the officers are expected to immediately report to their various working stations.

The deployment comes few days after it had promoted 300 QASOs to the next job groups after the Public Service Commission (PSC) approved the list of the officers who were set for upgrading to new job groups.

The Ministry, since the beginning of this year has been making efforts to motivate QASOs in order to boost service delivery, with the latest development being for the first time allowing the QASOs to get budget allocation to run their programmes.

The officers at the sub-county level will now access funds from the county directors or sub-county directors depending on who they report to, with those at the sub-county accessing between KSh260, 000 to KSh400, 000.

Their counterparts working at the county level will access between KSh650, 000 to KSh1.2 million as those at the regionals will access between KSh1 million to KSh1.5 million to run their operations.
