Assault on the deputy principal of Nkubu High School Mr. Gitari: Here is what happened.

He is a full account of what happened in the assault on the deputy principal of Nkubu High School, Mr. Gitari:

✅A grade 10 student reports the loss of his mattress.
✅The deputy principal launches an investigation into the loss with the help of the captains. In the meantime, the victim is given a mattress to be using.
✅After a couple of weeks, the mattress is traced to the bed of a form 4 student.
✅The deputy confirms this and takes the disciplinary measures in the circumstances, in consultation with the principal.
✅The boy is sent home on a 10 days suspension.
✅As is procedure, the deputy principal asks the student for the parent’s number so that the parent can be notified of the happenings and the decision to suspend him. The boy prefers the deputy to call the mother which he did.

Deputy Principal Suspends the Boy.

✅Given the boy did not have fare home and the boy’s class teacher was not available, he offers the boy Ksh 300 as fare and releases him to proceed home. This is about 10:00 am Saturday.
✅The mother, having been notified asks the teacher to tell the father instead, but shortly there after, the father calls the deputy principal furious demanding to know why his son was suspended. He followed it up with a barrage of insults and threatening texts. This prompted the teacher to block his number.
✅The parent later that afternoon called the principal seeking redress. He even shared a photo image of the suspension letter with the principal The principal advised him to visit the school on Monday and he will be granted audience.

The Boy’s Father attacks the Deputy Principal

✅On Sunday, while having his car spruced up at a carwash in Nkubu, the parent in question appears out of nowhere and confronts the teacher demanding to know the whereabouts of his son, claiming that he had gone missing.
✅After a brief exchange, the parents turns violent and attacks the teacher.
✅People present at the scene intervene and restrain the assailant from further attacking the teacher.

The Deputy Principal reports the matter to the Police.

✅The teacher then proceeded to Nkubu police station where he recorded a statement got a P3 form and later proceeded to seek medical attention at a local facility.
✅The matter is under investigation.
✅Despite the parent claiming he was not aware of his son’s whereabouts, it has emerged that upon exiting the school compound, the boy proceeded to the sister’s place, and the sister had notified the parents as much.
✅The said parent, Shadrack Gikunda (Sandi) works in the office of the Meru Senator as a driver.
