The Bachelor of Education (Arts), commonly called B.Ed (Arts), is one of the most marketable courses in Kenya.

It trains teachers who later work in senior and Junior schools under the Teachers Service Commission, TSC.

Minimum Entry Requirements for BEd (Arts)

To qualify for placement through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, you must meet the following:

Mean Grade: C+ (Plus)
Teaching Subjects: C+ (Plus) in each of the two subjects you want to teach

Example: C+ in History and C+ in CRE

The study duration for Bachelor of Education Arts (BED) degree is usually four years. Students also attend a teaching practice session at a Senior School for at least one term.
