Big boost for KMTC students as UK Government donates emergency obstetric and newborn care equipment

KMTC LATEST NEWS- The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) on Thursday received emergency obstetric and newborn care equipment from the UK Government and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) to enhance teaching and learning.
  The equipment was handed over to the College by Dr. Issak Bashir, the Program Coordinator at UNFPA.
  While delivering the donation, Dr. Issak said the equipment will go a long way in training competent health professionals to serve both local and international markets.
  “I am confident that the training offered in the College is competitive on a global platform and that this equipment will enhance it,” he said.
  Academic Registrar Dr. Lucy Waweru who received the equipment on behalf of the CEO Prof. Michael Kiptoo appreciated the continued support from LSTM and UK government, noting that the equipment will enhance the College’s mandate of producing competent health professionals that can compete globally.
  In addition, the equipment will boost training in emergency maternal and newborn care for improved outcomes.
