CS Machogu new guidelines for 2023 KCSE, KCPE exams

CS MACHOGU: 2023 NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS PREPAREDNESS.

1. All TSC Field Officers who are on leave to resume duties from October 16, 2023 as part of the measures to support the upcoming 2023 National Examinations which are set to begin on October 19 to November 1.

2. 223,223 teachers have been vetted to serve as supervisors and invigilators while an additional, 37,731 teachers will serve as examiners.

3. All Centre Managers will be in charge of the collection of exam papers which will be administered twice a day, with strict adherence to examination rules & procedures.

4. All the deployed 71,760 Centre Managers must attend all KNEC briefing meetings in their respective sub-counties the first week of October 2023.

5. No Supervisor or Invigilator has been retained in the centre that they served during last year’s national examinations, this ensures the annual rotation of staff.

6. During the examinations period, only Centre and Deputy Centre Managers will be required to be in school.

7. KCSE examinations will be done twice each day and the papers collected twice each day, the morning paper will be collected and after it is completed, it will be returned and the second paper collected.

8. KNEC to use 576 Containers for storage of Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and KCPE Examinations and 567 Containers for KCSE papers.

9. An additional 82 containers to facilitate storage for the 13 newly created Sub-Counties.

10. All examination Centres have been remapped to the nearest distribution points to enable every school pick its examination papers more efficiently.

11. Centre Managers will be required to prepare a list of all support staff on duty and the list be submitted to the sub-county directors of education before the start of the exam period.

12. No unauthorized person should be allowed in any examination centre except the Centre Managers, Supervisors and Invigilators.

13. Sufficient plans have been put in place ahead of the expected El Nino rains to make sure that exams are not disrupted.
