Diploma in Radiography and Imaging at KMTC

The Diploma in Radiography and Imaging is a practical, hands-on medical imaging programme that equips students with the skills to perform diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, Ultrasound, CT scans, and MRI.

Started in 1957 at KMTC Nairobi, the programme has since expanded to 10 more campuses: Mombasa, Manza, Nyeri, Nakuru, Eldoret, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Kapkatet, and Homabay.

The training program runs for 3 years, blending classroom instruction, clinical placements, and skills lab training. Students begin with foundational sciences in Year 1, advance to radiographic techniques in Year 2, and progress to advanced imaging and clinical practice in Year 3.

Courses include Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Imaging Physics, Radiographic Techniques, Image Pattern Analysis & Pathology, Patient Care in Radiology, and Research.

KMTC graduates are in high demand in hospitals, diagnostic centers, NGOs, medical imaging equipment companies, and research institutions locally and abroad. Many go on to pursue higher diplomas or degrees in specialized imaging fields.
