Dr. Edwin Namachanja Leads Maranda to National Glory as School Rises to KCSE Elite Ranks

Maranda High School once again cemented its place among Kenya’s academic giants after emerging third nationally in the 2025 KCSE examinations and ranking second after Alliance High School in the country in the number of A grades attained. The remarkable achievement has been widely attributed to the strategic and inspirational leadership of the school’s principal, Dr. Edwin Namachanja, whose tenure continues to redefine excellence at the institution.

Since joining Maranda from Kamusinga High School, Dr. Namachanja has instilled a strong culture of discipline, focus, and ambition. Education stakeholders credit him with creating an environment where both teachers and students are empowered to give their very best.

The school’s momentum comes at a time when preparations are underway for an important engagement with parents. On Tuesday the 24th of this month, all Grade 10 parents have been invited to attend an orientation program at the school.

The session will provide parents with an opportunity to meet their children’s teachers, interact with Heads of Departments, engage the administration, and understand the academic culture and way of life at Maranda High School.

The visit coincides with the start of the half-term break, underscoring the administration’s commitment to structured and meaningful parent involvement.
Beyond academics, Dr. Namachanja is also spearheading major infrastructure development at the school.

Under his stewardship, and in collaboration with the Board of Management, Maranda is constructing one of the largest multipurpose halls in the region.
