Education Ministry Issues New Directive On School’s Re-Opening

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has issued a directive that all Basic Education Institutions reopen from Monday, 15th August, 2022 and not 11th August as directed earlier.

In a press statement sent to newsrooms, Prof. Magoha said the change is to allow for adequate preparation and conduct of the General Election.

“We have been informed that the process of tallying of ballots may still be ongoing on the aforementioned date,” said the CS.

He said the ministry is working through to ensure the safety and comfort of learners during this electioneering period.
