Exclusive: How to Registrater as a Pensioner & Requirements

PENSIONER SELF-REGISTRATION EXERCISE

DEADLINE: 28TH FEBRUARY 2025

Failure to register will lead to automatic suspension of pension.
The National Treasury – Pensions Department invites all active pensioners to participate in a Pensioner Self-Registration Exercise.

The registration is for pensioners who were receiving monthly pension in the month of October 2024.

This includes retired Designated State Officers, Members of Parliament, retired civil servants, teachers, police officers, military personnel, NYS personnel, and dependents of deceased pensioners.

Why Register?

  • To ensure uninterrupted pension payment.
  • To comply with best practices in financial management.
  • To improve service delivery through an updated and accurate pensions database.

Online: Visit the eCitizen portal (www.ecitizen.go.ke) and follow the steps under the National TreasuryPensions department tab.

Huduma Centre: Seek assistance at the nearest Huduma Centre.

The following documents in pdf format

For Principal Pensioner

  • National ID card (front and back).
  • Bank/SACCO Card (showing Account Name and Number where pension is remitted)- DO NOT ATTACH THE BACKSIDE OF THE CARD.

For Dependants

  • National ID card (front and back).
  • Bank / SACCO Card (showing Account Name and Number where pension is remitted —DO NOT ATTACH THE BACKSIDE OF THE CARD.
  • Birth Certificate (for children)
  • Death Certificate (for deceased Principal Pensioner).
  • Tax exemption certificate (if applicable).

For Guardians

  • Guardian National ID card (front and back).
  • Bank/ SACCO Card (the front face of the card showing the Account Name and Number where pension is remitted) – DO NOT ATTACH THE BACKSIDE OF THE
    CARD.
  • Birth Certificate (for children)
  • Death Certificate (for deceased Principal Pensioner).
  • Tax exemption certificate (if applicable).

Additional Requirements for All Categories
a) A Valid Email Address.
b) A Valid Phone Number.

A support request feature is provided in the portal. In case someone encounters difficulties, please use it when necessary. You may also visit any Huduma Centre for assisted registration by our pension officers.
