The CAS called upon all field officers to ensure that admission of all learners are done in National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) and that schools capture their learners in the system.

The CAS said where parents and guardians had applied for change of placement and were successful the changes should be effected in NEMIS.

“We are also advising parents and guardians to send the index number to short code 22263 to confirm, download the new letter, if applicable and proceed as guided in the joining instructions,” said Ruto.

The CAS said students who will be admitted in schools are only those who appear on the current NEMIS list of that school, adding that the joining instructions must also be stamped by the head teacher of the primary school where they sat the exam.

“All deferred admissions will be done offline and processed later. The County Director of Education must ascertain all such cases beforehand,” said Ms. Ruto and warned that no school will be allowed to admit a learner in the system who has not physically reported to the school.

The CAS also told learners who are not able to take up their places on the stipulated dates to inform the schools in advance and where schools are facing admission challenges, the heads should inform the Director, Secondary Education immediately.
