Full details on placement of KCSE 2024 Students

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐊𝐂𝐒𝐄 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐊𝐌𝐓𝐂, 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐕𝐄𝐓 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba confirmed that the process, conducted by KUCCPS, was executed smoothly in two phases — with the first targeting KMTC and TVET intakes in March and May and the second focusing on September university and TTC admissions.

“The First Phase targeted students seeking opportunities at KMTC, national polytechnics, and public TVET institutions to facilitate their admission for the March and May intakes,” he disclosed, adding that successful applicants have already commenced their studies.

Out of 965,501 candidates, 244,563 students attained a mean grade of C+ and above, qualifying for admission to degree programmes, while 706,148 secured spots in TVET and other tertiary institutions.

Ogamba announced 986,137 total available opportunities — enough to accommodate all qualified students, including previous candidates.

“There were 986,137 total placement opportunities, enough to accommodate all 2024 KCSE candidates as well as those from previous years,” he assured.

He highlighted increased placement in teacher education, KMTC, and the newly introduced Kenya School of Law diploma.

He further noted government investments in new institutions and Sh500 million set aside to support KMTC students through HELB.

“No student will be left behind,” Ogamba said, urging eligible applicants to utilise open application windows.
