President William Ruto has made changes among the Principal Secretaries and approved new appointments to the country’s foreign service.

In a statement released to the media on Thursday, State House indicated that these changes aim to capitalize on opportunities in emerging economic sectors.

“The adjustments are intended to enhance the implementation of the administration’s comprehensive Social Economic Blueprint and the Bottom-Up Transformation agenda,” the statement noted.

Among the various changes, the president has introduced new members to his government and has nominated former Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha as the Permanent Representative to the UN-Habitat.

THE NEW APPOINTMENTS

The president has elevated Mr. Amos Gathe from Principal Secretary of Public Service to Deputy Head of the Public Service Executive Office of the President.

Former ICT Principal Secretary Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani has been appointed as Senior Adviser and a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers.

Dr. Jane Kare Imbunya has been nominated as Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Service & Human Capital Development in the Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital.

Ms. Regina Akoth Ombam has been nominated as Principal Secretary for the State Department for Trade in the Ministry of Investments, Trade & Industry.

Mr. Cyrell Wagunda Odede has been nominated as Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Investments & Assets Management in the National Treasury & Economic Planning.

Dr. Caroline Wanjiru Karugu has been nominated as Principal Secretary for the State Department for East African Community Affairs in the Ministry of East African Community Affairs, ASALs, and Regional Development.

Dr. Oluga Fredrick Ouma has been nominated as Principal Secretary for the State Department for Medical Services in the Ministry of Health.
