The government plans to build modern hostels at all universities and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions to provide students with a safe and supportive environment for their studies.

During a visit to Tharaka Nithi County, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced that a new hostel accommodating 1,200 students will be constructed, along with the completion of all ongoing projects that had previously stalled.

DP Kindiki made these remarks while participating in President William Ruto’s official tour of the Mt. Kenya region, where he inaugurated a tuition complex at Tharaka University and engaged with over 8,000 students at the institution.
