Grade 6 KPSEA results out today; How to check

The 2023 Grade 6 (KPSEA) exam results have been announced.

The results for the grade 6 candidates who are already in grade 7, Junior Secondary Schools, have been uploaded on the Knec portal.

Speaking at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), Machogu on January 16, 2023 Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu announced that the marking was complete and that the results would be available on the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal.

“I am happy to announce that the exercise has already been completed and that schools will be able to access the reports through the KNEC portal from Tuesday 17,” he declared.

The CS further directed KNEC to collaborate with KICD and the Teacher Service Commission (TSC) to interpret the report for learners and parents.

CS Machogu at the same time instructed KNEC to work with TSC and KICD, to give the government a report on the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) to inform ongoing curriculum reviews.

Machogu added that all 1,253,577 candidates who sat for the 2023 KPSEA exam will join the Junior Secondary Schools. The reporting date for Junior Secondary Schools learners will be Monday, January 30, 2023.

School heads will be required to fill in data on the admission of learners to schools on the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) to enable monitoring of the students.

Machogu revealed that President William Ruto’s government set aside Ksh9.6 billion in capitation- Ksh15,000 for each student joining Grade Seven in public schools.

“This means that no school should charge any fees for any learners except those which have boarding wings,” Machogu directed.

Learners joining grade 7 will have to buy new uniform, though.
