It’s all systems go as KPSEA Exams kick off

It’s all systems go in for this year’s Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) slated to commence on Monday October 28.

In Embu, County Director of Education Kosgei Kipruto said they had received all the assessment materials that are under lock and key in 10 examination containers across the county.

Speaking from his office on Friday morning, the Director said 12, 843 will be assessed in some 489 centers in the county including 384 public and 105 private assessment centers.

“We are adequately prepared for the examinations and security arrangements have been completed on how the materials will be escorted and distributed to the centers, “he said.

At the same time, the Director said some 14, 520 candidates are sitting this year’s KCSE that commenced on Monday October 21 with practicals in some 209 centers.

He added that they also have 169 private candidates who will be sitting their exams centrally at Embu Urban Primary School in Embu Town,

County Commissioner Jack Obuo said they had deployed adequate officers to ensure smooth running of the exercise until completion.

He said the examination containers are manned round the clock with each being guarded by armed police officers.

The two called on motorists passing near examination centers and churches near the centers to avoid noise pollution to give candidates a conducive environment to do the exams.

“We are appealing to motorists to stop hooting and churches to minimize noise emanating from their instruments during this period of examinations,” the director of education said.
