TSC and Kenyan Government on a mission of exporting a total of 354,234 teachers to 17 different countries.

According to the source, TSC is strongly pushing for the untimely move in bid to curb the increased cases of unemployment among teachers who play a very crucial role for the well being of the nation.

The source further disclosed that as at May 2024, TSC had a total 714,234 fully registered teachers on its register with only 360,000 teachers employed under Permanent and Pensionable (pnp) basis with the commission leaving 50% of the other tutors hunting for jobs.

Among the countries that the government and TSC are targeting for the greener pastures for teachers include; the United States (US) and Germany where there is a higher demand for tutors from Kenya.

Months after the Head of State His Excellency President William Ruto clinched the country’s top political seat, he promised to join hands with education stakeholders to expand avenues for job opportunities to support teachers as a means of addressing the surging cases of unemployment.

Recently, he also announced that plans of conversion of 46,000 Junior Secondary School (JSS) intern teachers into permanent terms is on course to ensure that learners across the country access quality education.
