Junior Secondary Schools teachers’ latest news

The Kenya National Union of Teachers, Knut, has clarified on the circular directing primary teachers to decline offers to teach at Junior Secondary Schools. Here is the communique from Knut

FAKE CIRCULAR ALLERT!

Our attention has been drawn to a FAKE circular dated Friday 27th January 2023 purporting to be directing teachers over teaching in Junior Secondary Schools.

The circular’s reference number is of 2021, it has been addressed to P1 teachers and is directing teachers to call branch managers for more assistance on the same.

The said circular is misleading, divisive and of an unknown intention. Our Secretary General writes circulars to branches through our Branch Executive Secretaries and not to a section of teachers (P1 Teachers or otherwise) as it is seen here, a circular written in 2023 cannot have a reference number of 2021 which is two years back since we have dispatched several circulars to our branches including one late last week and finally, the in charges of our branches are called Executive Secretaries not branch managers.

We therefore call upon all our teachers to disregard that fake circular and focus on what the KNUT-KE and her social partners (TSC-KE and MOEST) shall communicate to them over the expressed concerns.

We wish to strongly affirm that the Union is engaging with the right stakeholders over deployment and staffing of teachers to the JSS section. Sufficient communication shall be availed to you once we complete our engagements.
Thank you.
KNUT-KE Communications.
