Michael Warutere from Riara Springs Academy emerged the KCPE 2023 Top Candidate after scoring 428 marks out of a 500.
“I feel ecstatic. I didn’t expect it. I anticipated to score 410 marks. God has helped me. I wish to join Mangu High School. desire to be a software engineer,” Warutere said.

Some 9,354 candidates who failed to sit KCPE to be given special exams in January. Machogu said.
Two out of 2,611 KCPE candidates with special needs scored 400 marks and above in this year’s test, compared to 39 out of 2,131 who sat the exam last year.
