KCSE 2021 exam Leakage- Education Ministry Speaks

KCSE 2021 LATEST NEWS- The Ministry of Education has come out to set the record straight concerning claims that this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams leaked. The State Department for Early Learning and Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr. Julius Jwan refuted claims of any leakage of the exam saying such claims were above the board.

Jwan was speaking on Friday in Kibra as the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KSCE) 2020 kicked off countrywide.

While supervising the distribution of KCSE paper, the PS said the reports of exam leakage by a local daily were unfounded and malicious urging Kenyans to dismiss them.

“For the next 4 weeks, we’re going to run the exams effectively the way we did with KCPE. I know there’s something on the headline of the papers today which we’ll be addressing later, ignore that. There is no exam that leaked. We want to assure the country that the exam’s integrity remains as it has always been,” he said.

Same sentiments were echoed by the Kenya National Examination Council Chairman Professor John Onsati who assured candidates that there have been no leakages of the KCSE exam. Prof. Onsati spoke in Nyeri town on Friday morning where he oversaw the distribution of day one KCSE exam materials.

Elsewhere, Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Prof. Magoha Friday walked out of an exam room in Migori County to go and look for a missing KCSE candidate. He went up to the nearby Nyatike village in search of the student. At the girl’s home the CS discovered that the girl had gone missing three weeks prior to the exam.

Magoha had earlier stated that any student able to do the exam will be facilitated fully, even the girl students who fell pregnant during the lengthy stay at home over Covid-19 pandemic.

“Any child who has the capacity to sit for the exams, the government will ensure that the examination is taken to the child,” vowed CS Magoha recently.
