KCSE 2024-2025 Results: Maranda High Records 206 As

Maranda High School has once again cemented its position as an academic giant in Kenya. This is after it produced stellar results following the release of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.

Where is Maranda High School located?

Maranda High School, located in Siaya county, Nyanza region, is one of Kenya’s most prestigious national schools. Established in 1919, the institution has consistently ranked among the best-performing schools in the country, particularly in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines.

How did Maranda High School perform in KCSE 2024?

According to provisional results posted by a page affiliated with the school, Maranda has achieved impressive results, with 206 students scoring As. Out of these, 56 had A plain, while 150 had A minus. From a total candidature of 562 who sat for the KCSE exams at Maranda High School this year, 538 attained direct university entry grades, translating to 95.73% pass rate.

What mean grade did Maranda get in 2024 KCSE?

The Nyanza academic giant recorded a mean grade of B+ (9.6975). Apart from As, the school also recorded commendable results in the mid-tier grades. Below is a breakdown of how the performance was distributed:

How many students scored A plain overall?

The 2024 KCSE results were officially released today, Thursday, January 9, 2025, by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba.

This year’s examination saw a record number of candidates, with a total of 962,512 students participating, marking a significant increase from the previous year.

The grade distribution for the 2024 KCSE exams revealed that 1,693 candidates scored the coveted Grade A, while 7,743 achieved an A-minus. Additionally, 246,391 candidates secured a C+ or above for university entry qualification, with other 230,498 students achieving a C or C- grade, making the total number of candidates with C- and above at 476,889.
