KCSE 2024 results to be released in the Second Week of January 2025- Top 100 schools KCSE 2024

The long wait for the announcement of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Exams, KCSE, is now offer. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has announced that the results for the 2024 KCSE exams will be released in the second week of January, 2025.

Speaking to journalists during a cultural event of the Abagusii community at Kenyoro Mixed Secondary School in North Mugirango, Ogamba said the results will be announced in the customary manner.

“The KCSE examination results, will be released within the next two weeks.  Traditionally, the KCSE exams were normally announced in January and we are keeping to that tradition and we are releasing them within the next two weeks (between 6th and 10th January, 2025)” he said.

The CS also addressed potential confusion surrounding the timing of exam result releases.

He clarified that while results were typically announced in December, this was for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), which was not conducted this year due to the implementation of the new education curriculum.

“The exams previously released in December were the KCPE results, but this year, we did not have that examination. This may have led to some confusion,” Ogamba explained.

The Education CS also stated that his ministry is fully prepared to ensure that Grade 9 students will start school next year without any issues, adding that efforts are being made to ensure that all classrooms are ready on time.

Ogamba however avoided commenting on the university lecturers’ strike, saying he is still seeking information on whether agreements regarding their salary increments have been reached with the National Treasury.

Ogamba made these remarks as university lecturers across the country threatened to resume protests following the failure to increase their salaries.

Regarding the new university funding model, Ogamba said they will appeal after the High Court ruled that the model is unconstitutional. He added that his ministry is looking for appropriate ways to fund university students while the case continues in court.
