KCSE Examination Malpractice reported at Nyanchwa Boys

A knec official detailed to monitor examination malpractices at Nyanchwa boys has reported a malpractice at the ongoing KCSE exams

While going round the classes, the official saw a mobile cell phone placed by unknown person on the table next to an open window; inside a classroom adjacent to the examination room.

The phone could only be accessed on password. After the students finished the mathematics paper 2 examination, she asked to find out who the owner of the cell phone was.

A lady called Lilian Ondiek aged 30 years sitting as a private candidate and hosted in Nyanchwa boys center stepped forward and claimed the phone to be hers.

She gave out the password code which was used in accessing the phone.

Upon going through its what’s up section,she discovered the real answered mathematics paper 2 question paper having been posted therein.

The same had been shared to four groups with one group having a following of 12, 000 members.

Police rushed to the scene and it was established that the make of the phone was infinix hot 11 and that the answered mathematics paper 2 was sent to the group 48 minutes after the official starting time of the paper at 0800 a.m. further to that, messages continued to be sent to the group urging the participants to make haste in sending ksh 10,000/- each for next paper which was to be kiswahili paper 3.

Efforts to identify and apprehend the sender in progress.

The student was allowed to continue writing the subsequent examinations.

Investigations into the matter launched.

The cell phone recovered as an exhibit.
