1932: The Kenya Highlands Evangelical University began as a Bible training school founded by missionaries of the World Gospel Mission .
1955: It was known as Kenya Highlands Bible School .
1989: It was registered as a private college and began its journey to becoming a university under the name Kenya Highlands Evangelical University .
2011: Received an official “Charter” from President Mwai Kibaki and changed its name to Kenya Highlands University .
