KMTC announces scholarships in Community Health Nursing for 2024/2025 intake.

The Kenya Medical Training College, KMTC, has announced several scholarship opportunities for students. These scholarships are available for students who wish to pursue a certificate course in Community Health Nursing.

KMTC in a notice has said the scholarship opportunities will commence in March 2024.

KMTC CEO Kelly Oluoch said qualified candidates from selected Arid and Semi-Arid counties, underserved minorities and other vulnerable and marginalized groups will be given top priority.

The two-year- scholarships will be offered at KMTC Kapenguria, Kabarnet, Bomet, Loitoktok, Garissa, Kilifi, Kitui and Msambweni campuses.

To qualify for the scholarships, the candidates must also be willing to serve in their communities upon graduation.

“Applicants are expected to attach a handwritten essay of not more than 200 words explaining why they feel they deserve the scholarships and the contributions they will make to the community upon graduation,” Oluoch said.

Those interested in the scholarships should send their applications before February 26.

“Successful applications will receive full scholarships for the duration of the course. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply,” Oluoch said.

According to KMTC the candidates should possess a KCSE Mean Grade of C- or equivalent qualifications, a C- in English or Kiswahili, a C- in Biology and a D+ in either Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

The Kuccps portal is open for KCSE graduands to apply for placement to universities and colleges of their choice.
