The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) offers a two-year Certificate in Medical Engineering. This program focuses on the design, maintenance, and repair of medical devices and equipment used in healthcare settings. It’s a full-time, in-person course with two practical attachments.

Key aspects of the KMTC Certificate in Medical Engineering:

Course Duration: 2 years.
Mode of Study: Full-time, in-person.
Examination Body: TVET CDACC.
Key Modules: Mathematics, electronics, electrical engineering, hospital plant and building services, clinical engineering (including dental equipment and operating theater technology), and engineering drawing.
Practical Attachments: Two 8-week attachments are part of the curriculum.
Entry Requirements: KCSE Mean Grade of C- (minus) with C- in English or Kiswahili, D in Mathematics, and D- in Physics/Physical Sciences or D in any of the following: Chemistry, Biology/Biological Sciences, Electricity, Metal Work, or Technical Drawing.
Financial Obligations: Tuition fee is Ksh. 45,000 per trimester.
Progression: Graduates can later upgrade to a Diploma in Medical Engineering.
