KMTC Receives Books worth millions of shillings to enhance Teaching and Learning

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has received a consignment of books valued at Sh 22 million, in the latest donation by Book Aid International and Elsevier, to enhance teaching and learning in the College.

Speaking when he officially received the consignment, KMTC Board Chairperson Amb. Zachary Muburi-Muita welcomed the donation and termed it a good gesture.

He thanked Book Aid International and Elsevier for supporting the College, noting that since 2010, the institution has donated books worth Sh 50 million.

“I am most impressed that the books we are receiving here today are very new and are the most current editions,” said Amb. Muita.

He noted that the books will be distributed to all KMTC Campuses.

Ag. Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kelly Oluoch hailed the donation, saying it is the result of collaboration.

He noted that the College is prioritizing equipping all its Campus libraries with the latest edition of books to provide quality training.

“I want to urge students to use the books to sharpen their knowledge and expand their intellect,” said Dr. Oluoch.

In attendance were; Board Directors Dr. Naomi Kathure Mutea, Ms. Jeniffer Kibagendi, Mr. Fredrick Wamwaki, Dr. Martin Sirengo, Dr. Andrew Mulwa, Dr. Stephen Ochiel, and Mr. Bett Sitieney.

Others were Intergovernmental Relations Manager Dr. Leah Bii, Deputy Corporate Communications Manager Mr. Hezron Ochiel, Nairobi Campus Deputy Principal Academics Ms. Felistus Muinde, Ag. Chief Librarian Mr. Raymond Wafula and Heads of the various Academic Department, among other staff members.
