In summary:
The Kenya National Examinations Council, Knec, has asked all the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, candidates to immediately collect their result slips.
In a statement on its social media platforms, the Council asks the candidates to collect the provisional result slips from their former primary schools.
In case of any errors, the candidates should raise it with the council for corrections.
“Candidates are advised to visit their schools and collect the official provisional results slips and raise any query for review of their results, if any, within the stipulated 30-day period.” Says the Council.
This comes as most candidates and schools raise concerns over the released results.
In what puts the credibility of the results in limbo, some candidates were awarded marks and grades for subjects they did not sit for. A good example is a scenario where Kenya Sign Language results appeared on some of the SMS results from Knec.
In other instances there were inconsistent grading and awarding of marks for some candidates.
Already, some schools and candidates have filed cases in court to oppose the results; saying that the marks warded by Knec were too low.
The 2023 KCPE Results were announced on Thursday 23rd November 2023 by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
What followed was a long agonizing wait for the results as the Knec SMS code 40054 experienced hitches.
