KNEC to Train KJSEA Examiners After Selecting Applicants
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is set to begin training teachers who will assess the Grade 9 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).
KNEC has published a list of teachers who have been shortlisted following the acceptance of their applications.
These selected teachers must now finalize their registration by paying a fee of Ksh. 10,500 via a paybill number and then confirming their payment on the KNEC examiners portal.
The first group of students following the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) will undertake their final junior school assessment, the KJSEA, from October to November this year.
The KJSEA will consist of projects, practicals, and theory papers. In May, candidates will begin with the Creative Arts and Sports Project, which will continue until July.
Throughout July, they will also work on a Pre-Technical Studies Project. The candidates will take theory and practical exams over eight days from October 24, 2025, to November 5, 2025.
Registration for candidates for the 2025 KJSEA will close at midnight on March 28, 2025.
KNEC has identified twenty-four examinable papers for which the teachers will receive training.
The training will initially take place online, followed by in-person sessions at a designated residential location.
Below is the announcement shared by KNEC detailing the requirements and application process.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will conduct training for KJSEA examiners in March and April 2025.
The training fee is Ksh. 10,500 and must be paid only by the shortlisted applicants, who will receive instructions on payment via SMS and through the application portal.

Shortlisted trainees will receive guidance on accessing the online training materials.
The locations for the residential training will be communicated to the qualified trainees later, and attendance will be strictly residential.
