KRA to taxpayers- Check the genuineness of your PIN by using the Online PIN checker option; procedure

The Kenya Revenue Authority, KRA, has directed those with PINs to update them on its iTax platform. The tax man has at the same time informed tax payers to check the genuineness of their PINs.

“Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) notifies all taxpayers whose PIN’s are not updated on iTax to do so, and file all pending annual income tax returns by 30th JUNE 2019 to avoid accruing penalties. Taxpayers are advised to confirm if their PIN is on iTax through the PIN Checker on itax.kra.go.ke and follow the process,” KRA says.

KRA PIN CHECKER
The PIN checker enables a taxpayer to confirm whether or not a particular PIN is genuine. A PIN is said to be genuine if it is generated by the KRA’s Domestic Taxes Department System and is in active status.

To check on the PIN status, use this procedure:
1). Visit the PIN checker portal by using this address: https://itax.kra.go.ke/KRA-Portal/pinChecker.htm
2). Enter your KRA PIN followed by the answer to the Arithmetic question (Security Stamp). Then, click on Consult.
3). The following information is displayed: KRA PIN, PIN Status, Taxpayer’s name, iTax Status, Taxpayer’s Address details and Obligation details.
