KUCCPS Opens Placement Portal for University and TVET September 2025 Intake

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has activated the placement portal for various educational institutions.

In a notice released on Friday, KUCCPS stated that the placement is specifically for the 2024 KCSE candidates applying for degree courses, as well as those from 2000 to 2024 interested in TVET and TTC programs.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit students.kuccps.net or https://t.co/6ssPlKURCd to submit their applications.

“Attention 2024 KCSE Cohort! You can now apply for degree courses through the official KUCCPS portal. The deadline is April 21, 2025,” the notice indicated.

KUCCPS highlighted that there are 40 public universities, 29 private universities, and one Open University of Kenya available for applications.

This group is also eligible for funding from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

Additionally, there are 263 public colleges eligible for government scholarships and HELB loans, along with 141 other public colleges (including KMTC and those under different ministries) and university TVET programs open for applications.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba had announced in February the plan to open the portal in March for students seeking university placement for the September 2025 intake.

“In line with the annual placement schedule, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) will open the placement portal for the September 2025 university intake in March 2025,” Ogamba stated.

KUCCPS was established in 2014 to manage the selection of students for enrollment in universities, teacher training colleges, national polytechnics, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions, and other training facilities.

The agency also creates career guidance programs for students, collects and maintains data on student placements in universities and colleges, and advises the government on student placement matters.

During the 2024 KCSE examinations, a total of 962,512 candidates participated, compared to 899,453 in 2023. Of these, 246,391 achieved the minimum grade of C+, qualifying them for university admission.
