Latest KCSE Exams News

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) which kicked off in the country on Monday started smoothly in Marsabit county’s 46 examination centers.

County Director of Education (CDE) Joseph Maki said all the 2,780 registered candidates appeared at their respective examination centers across the county.

Mr Maki said there were 1,409 male candidates and 1,371 female candidates sitting for this year’s KCSE in Marsabit County which saw the Ministry of Education with the support of the interior ministry distribute the examination papers to the designated containers by use of helicopters.

Marsabit Deputy County Commissioner David Saruni told KNA after the official kick-off of the exercise at the Marsabit Central sub-county offices that two helicopters were dispatched on Monday from Nairobi to assist in distributing the examination materials following the destruction of roads by the ongoing heavy rains in the area.

He said that the exercise was progressing without any hitches as measures had been put in place including security to check on irregularities.

Marsabit Central has the highest number of registered candidates with 1,16 followed by Moyale sub-county which has 901 candidates while Dukana sub-county posted the lowest number with 13 only.

The examination papers were dispatched twice from containers to the centers under the new Ministry of Education guidelines compared to previous arrangements where the papers for the day were picked once.
