Mathioya Technical and Vocational College; Courses, Contacts, Requirements, How to apply and Location

Mathioya Technical and Vocational College was started in the year 2014 being among the sixty technical and vocational colleges to be constructed in every sub-county of the republic of Kenya.

The construction was a joint venture between National Government of Kenya and Mathioya Constituency Development Fund. The college is situated next to Kamacharia Market 4 kilometers from Kiria-ini town and 26 kilometers from Murang’a town along Kiria-ini-Murang’a Road.

The College admitted the first bunch of student in January 2018.

TECHNICAL/ENGINEERING DIPLOMA COURSES

Mean grade C-(minus) or Craft Certificate.

 Diploma – Mean grade C-(minus) and above or Craft Certificate
 CPA (KASNEB) mean grade C+ (Plus) with C+ in Mathematics and English
 CICT (KASNEB) mean grade C+ (Plus) with C+ in Mathematics and English
 Accounting Technicians Diploma Level I – mean grade C-(minus)

ALL CERTIFICATE COURSES

Mean grade D (plain and preferably D (plain) in Mathematics, English and Physics or Physical Sciences, in NAVCET 1 – KCPE and above

SKILLS IMPROVEMENT / SHORT COURSES

  1. Computer Proficiency Programs CISCO & ICDL are offered any time of the year, and available to all interested persons.
  2. Computer Hardware and Software Maintenance-3 Months
  3. Short courses in Hair Dressing, Beauty Therapy, Plumbing, Pipe work, are available for 3 Months.
  4. Short courses in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Motor Vehicle Electricians, Panel beating and Spray Painting are available for duration of 1 year.
  5. Organizations/Companies’ tailored courses are offered any time of the year.

HOW TO APPLY FOR TVET BURSARIES FROM HELB

Students pursuing Diploma and Certificate courses in Public universities, university colleges, public national polytechnics and Institutes of Technology and Technical Training institutes country-wide are eligible for this loan and bursary from HELB.

Orphans, single parent students and others who come from poor backgrounds will be given priority for the loans and or bursaries. Also they may be assisted at the institution to apply for helb and bursaries.
