MP’s bid to address TSC Teachers shortages, School Infrastructure
BARINGO CENTRAL: MP KANDIE PLEDGES EDUCATION REFORMS TO ENHANCE KCSE SUCCESS IN BARINGO CENTRAL
Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie has pledged to improve KCSE results by addressing understaffing, enhancing school infrastructure, and supporting students through bursaries.
Additionally, he is pushing for the introduction of a school feeding program in day schools to ensure students from disadvantaged backgrounds can focus on their studies without hunger being a barrier.
To further encourage academic excellence, he plans to introduce a system of incentives and rewards for top-performing students, teachers, and schools to foster a culture of hard work and commitment.
He says he is also pushing the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to deploy more teachers to schools in the region, as most institutions struggle with severe understaffing, which affects learning outcomes.
He recently met with high school principals to discuss strategies and has been visiting schools to motivate students and identify challenges.
To support these efforts, with the help of professionals, he raised KSH 2 million at a Kapropita Girls thanksgiving service to reward teachers.
Kandie aims to make Baringo Central an academic hub by strengthening the education system and ensuring all students have access to quality learning environments.
Last year, Baringo Central’s KCSE performance was modest yet commendable, with many attributing the results to genuine efforts rather than exam malpractice, a concern in other regions.
