Mwalimu National Sacco Circular on Reduction of Interest Rates For Loans {Latest}

Dear Members,

RE: LENDING POLICY INTERVENTIONS.

The Board of Mwalimu National D.T. Sacco in its meeting held on 18th December 2025 approved the following interventions geared towards some product reengilieering as part of ongoing eff’orts to offer members options to finanrial access;

1. Emergency and School fees loans

The Sacco has waived Top up charges to all members with existing Emergency or School fees loans, who are desirous to do a top up. The waiver runs from 1st January 2026 to 3lst January 2026 to allow members meet the education needs for their loved ones and pressing needs for quic1‹ financing.

2. Non-Salaried Loan Product

The Sacco has reviewed the eligibility conditions of this product ef’fective 1st January 2026 to improve performance and recovery of amounts accessed .
i. The member must have Sacco Non-Withdrawable deposits totalling to at least Ksh. 20,000.
ii. The minimum amount one can qualify will be Ksh. 5,00 0 that shall graduate by Ksh.500 after every three months, consecutively to allow timely repayment subject to a maximum of Ksh. 10,000.

3. 12 months FOSA Instant Advance.

The interest rate of this product has been reviewed downwards to 12% p.a to encourage members’ patronage for those whose pay points is through MNS(The Saccco) effective 1st January 2026.

4. Jawabu Loan

The Sacco has introduced flexible interest Banding for this product, to allow members flexibility in terms of options offering, this will be an added advantage t(i those who would
want to pay back the loan within shorter tenor as follows;

7 to36 13.5
3Y-72 14.5
Above 72 15.5

The maximum tenure of this product has also been reviewed to 108 months effective 15th December 2025 to 31st March 2026.

5. Change of Salary Pay-point for Development Loan, Super Loan and Vision Loan.

All members patronising these products must have their salaries channelled through their Mwalimu National D.T Sacco FOSA accounts effective 1st January 2026.

We believe these interventions will further provide greater financial flexibility to our members while upholding the Sacco’s commitment to responsible and inclusive lending, that is sensitive to our credit risk profile.
