New Kazi Mtaani, Climate Workx Online Application Form 2025

The Government of Kenya has reintroduced the Kazi Mtaani program, now called Climate Workx, with operations starting on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Eligibility

This program is aimed at youth aged 18 to 35, providing over 113,000 temporary job opportunities across the country.

Available Positions:

– General Workers (KES 500 per day)
– Supervisors (KES 580 per day)

Job assignments will concentrate on local community projects such as tree planting, road maintenance, cleaning, and other community services in the participants’ home villages.

Issues with the Kazi Mtaani Website

Applicants facing technical issues with email verification or phone number validation during registration are encouraged to keep trying to apply. Using a different email address or phone number may help resolve these problems.

Youth who have already registered successfully—either on their own or with help—should not submit multiple applications. Each applicant is required to register only once.

New Application Portal Link

The Kazi Mtaani application portal has been updated with a new link. Previous requirements for SHIF, SHA, and NSSF documentation, which posed challenges for many applicants, have been removed from the registration process.

With a funding allocation of Ksh. 5 billion from the Ministry of Roads, the program will be implemented in 46 counties. Nairobi County is not included as it already has a similar initiative engaging over 20,000 youth.

Eligible youth from the 46 participating counties have a 10-day period to complete their online registration before moving to a manual recruitment process managed by local chiefs and assistant chiefs.

President Ruto’s revival of the program as Climate Workx has the potential to greatly benefit Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) while boosting economic activity at the grassroots level. By re-engaging thousands of unemployed individuals in productive work focused on climate resilience and community enhancement, the initiative serves multiple purposes.

Firstly, it offers direct employment to low-income individuals who typically make up the primary customer base for MSMEs. As these workers earn wages, their increased purchasing power is expected to drive demand for local goods and services, thereby fostering small business growth.

Secondly, the program’s focus on sustainable practices includes training and capacity-building for MSMEs involved in environmentally-friendly solutions. This dual approach not only enhances workers’ skills but also equips small businesses to compete in emerging green markets.
