The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has implemented the second phase of the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement for teachers. This has seen the teachers’ salaries increasing marginally. The Highest paid teachers (Chief Principals) will now earn a basic salary of Ksh.162,539 per month. While the lowest paid teachers (Primary Teacher II) wil receive a monthly basic salary pay of Ksh. 29,787. (See salary scales tables below).
The Commission has, at the same time, reviewed the allowances for teachers (See tables below).
The house allowance rates clusters have been reviewed from 4 to 3. Cluster 4 rates hav ebeen phased out and the teachers previously earning house allowance rates in this cluster will adopt house allowance rates for cluster 3. (Get full details in the attached tables, below).
The Commission has also retained the Job Groups for teachers as follows:
