NYS announces 50 oversees jobs

The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced 50 job openings in the United Arab Emirates for its graduates.

On April 4, 2025, the service will conduct practical interviews to select 50 fabricators, facilitated by a client based in Dubai. Successful candidates will join the client’s team in the UAE. This announcement follows a previous successful interview round that resulted in the hiring of NYS graduates.

Candidates must be NYS graduates with a diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field, along with 3-5 years of hands-on fabrication experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally in metalworking or machining. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are also required, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

The employment will be on a two-year renewable contract, offering a basic salary of approximately Sh51,087. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing fabrication processes, maintaining technical documentation, interpreting blueprints, measuring and cutting steel bars, shaping steel using tools and machines, securing steel in concrete forms, and collaborating with design engineers to enhance manufacturability.

The company will provide an employment visa, resident permit, accommodation, transportation, uniforms, personal protective equipment, medical insurance, group life insurance, and employer liability coverage. A round-trip airfare will be covered every two years, while the initial flight from Kenya to the UAE will be arranged by the agent.

Interested candidates who meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply by completing the form at the link: https://forms.gle/Yo8ViztUm8FB9LN5A. They will be contacted for practical tests (interviews) at the National Youth Service Engineering Institute on Thursday, April 4, 2025.
