Online Services on eCitizen now to be faster, efficient

The Secretary to the Cabinet, Mercy Wanjau, has chaired a meeting with Principal Secretaries, Chief Executive Officers, and Board chairpersons of 17 state-run agencies over compliance with the presidential directive on on-boarding of services on e-Citizen and payment services through the 222222 Pay Bill number.

During a media briefing after chairing the e-Citizen implementation meeting in Nairobi, Wanjau said that the e-Citizen platform has had a remarkable journey so far, having started with 397 services in January to 3057 services on the 30th of June and currently standing at 14,000 services.

She added that users can now procure government services from wherever they are and obtain them without a timeline that is already prescribed.

This being a work in progress, she encouraged feedback from users, saying that it will improve the delivery of services, cater for any unique circumstances that may exist in the course of the delivery of any kind of service, and achieve revenue enhancement and transparency on the platform.

Further, Wanjau cited the directive issued by President William Ruto that has set a timeline for December 3, 2023, to have uploaded 100 per cent of all loan services in the country.

“We are committed to meeting this deadline and thereafter begin to improve the customer experience and move towards customer delight,” she remarked.

In his remarks, the Principal Secretary of Immigration and Citizen Services, Ambassador Julius Bitok, said that they are finding a way of integrating different agencies and that their services will be available in due time.
