Sad News: Teacher commits suicide in school compound

Tragic news: Kakrao Secondary School’s teacher commits suicide within school compound.

A secondary school teacher has committed suicide by hanging himself in the school compound.

Mr Billy of Kakrao Mixed Day and Boarding in Migori County is said to have hanged himself on Saturday night.

From the preliminary reports/investigation, Mr Billy of Kakrao Mixed Day and Boarding has been commuting from his rural home at Mariwa daily to school,on that day(Friday), he never went back home but was in a company of colleagues/friends at Kakrao Center UpTo very late in the night,prior to that evening,Billy was seen making several calls possibly in argument with his caller.(who is yet to be identified)

It’s said that he has been Mr Billy has been in differences with his wife,forcing him to, at times, spend a night in his friend’s house at Kakrao center

This has been witnessed by high rate at which the young teacher has been taking alcohol uncontrollably in frustrations.

On the fateful night,Billy came back to school at wee hours 1am(Saturday morning),the gate was opened by the watchman(the teacher only greeted the watchman in sign language, making it hard to identify whether he was drunk or not by that time) who was on duty,the teacher headed to the office,where it’s said he took the rope and any other materials used in his suicidal act.The act took place behind the offices,some distance from the gate.

The body was first identified by one student (name withheld) who woke up to go pick water drawer to fetch water from the well.

Watchman was alerted who then called the school head.
