Western Region Soccer Champs, Shanderema, gets morale booster ahead of the National Games.

Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has honoured a request from Shanderema Secondary School Management to support the institution’s football team as they prepare for the upcoming Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association games that officially begin on Tuesday 8th August, 2023 in Kakamega County.

The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Social Services, Sports, Youth, Gender and Culture Mr Mophat Mandela, on behalf of H.E the Governor on Monday, presented a cheque worth Shs 570,000 to the school to cater for the team’s camp and other logistics.

This follows another cash reward by Governor Barasa to the team after edging out pre-final favourites Musingu School in the finals to lift the regional trophy at Bukhungu Stadium, a week ago.

The hosts, Shanderema, are drawn in pool A and will square it out with North Eastern’s Representative, Kirangari from Central and Nyanza’s Agoro sare.
