Two directors of a school in Kimumu, Uasin Gishu County, have been arrested for administering a fake Kenya Primary School Education Assessment, KPSEA, to 23 candidates.
The fate of the 23 candidates is unknown after sitting for the first fake papers Tuesday.
The Silver Bells Academy Director, a woman, and her son were arrested by education and security officials who stormed the school where the unsuspecting students were undertaking the examinations.
Uasin Gishu County Director of Education Gitonga Thiringi confirmed the arrest of the directors, saying the school was not registered as an examination centre.
โThe place is not even a school; itโs just in someoneโs homestead. The examinations being administered were fake and not from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC),โ said the CDE.
The suspects were taken to the Chepkanga Police Post in Moiben sub-county, where parents are also recording their statements.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Dr. Eddyson Nyale directed the Department of Education and Security agencies to take immediate action against the culprits, wondering how the school had been operating for all that time, yet it was not registered.
