Some Bungoma High School students yet to receive their 2023 KCSE results

Two students of Bungoma High School are yet to receive their 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary School (KCSE) results.

Speaking in his office, Thursday, the school Senior Principal, Enock Andaje, stated that the two have pending results due to misplaced marks.

He said that out of a total of 344 students who sat for the examinations, two of the students are yet to receive their results.

“I am appealing to the affected students and their parents to be patient with us as the Ministry is doing all what is possible to release their results,” Andaje stated.

Bungoma High School improved in last year’s KCSE results by scoring a mean of 7.13 compared to 2022, where they achieved 6.74.

The School emerged second in Bungoma South Sub-county, while St. Mary’s Kibabii boys emerged top with the mean grade of 8.0, while Cardinal Otunga Girls High, emerged third in the just released exams.

The school managed to score Eight A-‘s , 24B+, 55B, 45B-, 67C+, 88C, 44C- and 13D-.

“We appreciate the Board of Management, parents, non-teaching staff, students and all education stakeholders for the impressive results, we are also hopeful at regaining our position as the academic giants of yester years,” the Chief Principal noted.

The Principal called for concerted efforts from all those concerned, so as to post better results next year.

“We want to make sure we lead in Bungoma County and Western region at large as the power house of academics,” he said.

Meanwhile, Friends School Kamusinga, a longtime academic giant, made a comeback as the region’s education giant by posting a mean of 9.36 in the 2023 K.C.S.E.

The school poised a sterling performance by scoring a mean grade of B.

The School with a population of 463 students scored 30 straight As and 89 A- minus, B plus 120, B plain 80, B minus 84, C plus 47, C plain 11, and two C minus.

The Principal, Paul Weloba, attributed the sterling performance to hard work and determination amongst teachers, parents, leaders, support staff and the community around the Institution.

Weloba stated that in 2022 the school had a negative deviation of 0.369.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, there is a future for Friends School Kamusinga, we are going to do even much better and the 2024 class is prepared even much better than last years,” Weloba noted.
