Teacher’s Burial in Bungoma Turns into Chaos After Second Wife Denied Chance to Speak
Chaos broke out during a funeral service in Nasala, Lwandanyi, Bungoma County, when a Salvation Army pastor refused to allow the second wife of the deceased, Mwalimu Samuel Mwangila, to speak. The pastor, who also served as the master of ceremonies, took the microphone and moved to the center of the field, threatening to halt the burial if they continued to insist on giving her a voice.
“My program states that I only recognize one widow; any further discussions will take place after the service,” he stated.
According to Elgon TV Kenya, the late teacher had two children with the second wife, who was notably absent from the eulogy. Frustrated by the situation, a mourner approached the front and invited the woman, her children, and her relatives to speak. “This burial service will come to an end,” he warned.
Eventually, the family rallied around their sister at the front, and the situation was resolved.
