Part of the action in basketball at the 2019 Nyanza Region Secondary Schools Sports Association, NRSSSA, term one championship that was held at Homa Bay High School. Schools are priming themselves for the 2020 edition.
THE MASENO SCHOOL ANNUAL AMADI OPEN TOURNAMENT
Another year, another classic sports tournament in the offing; the Maseno School’s annual tournament is here with us again. Welcome for another season of pulsating encounters as various teams take to the fields of play. You can not afford to miss this!
This year’s tournament shall feature:
Basketball for both boys and girls,
Hockey for both boys and girls,
Rugby 15’s and 7’s,
Soccer for both boys and girls,
Handball for both boys and girls,
Volleyball for both boys and girls,
Racquet games: Table Tennis, Badminton and Lawn Tennis for both boys and girls, and
Netball.
Key Points to note:
Tournament dates: 1st to 2nd February 2020.
Participation fee shall be Kshs. 2,000 per discipline
Accommodation will be offered at a rate of Kshs. 250 per student per day.

Maseno Boys lifted the 2019 Maseno Open Boys’ basketball trophy after overcoming fierce opposition from Siaya’s Ambira boys. Playing at their own backyard and buoyed by a large fan base, the home side ( Maseno Boys) lived up to expectations; thumping Ambira 36 points to 25, in a pulsating final played on Sunday February 10, 2019. Maseno’s Joseph Murage was the star of that match after scoring 20 points for the home side. The 2018 Nyanza Region Secondary Schools’ basketball boys’ winners, Ambira, led in the first quarter but got the going tough in the second, third and fourth quarters; as Maseno recovered to clinch victory. The two day event that was staged at Maseno Boys saw various teams compete in such disciplines as: Basketball, Soccer, Rugby, Volleyball and Racquet games.
